BACKGROUND:
Continuing our new BIOGRAF series that focuses on showcasing Rhône varieties from the best vineyards in CA - and having worked with fruit from Santa Barbara County for many years, I knew the power that cold climate region has on the variety. In my opinion, some of the best Syrah’s produced in America come from this region - and no vineyard is better than White Hawk for this.

STYLE:
This is a wonderfully powerful whole cluster Syrah from famed White Hawk Vineyard in Santa Barbara. This wine combines the power of a bigger Syrah with the freshness and herbal characters of a whole cluster expression, but without any oak influence. I’m extremely proud of this wine and the terroir speaks for itself. It’s both drinkable now and a good candidate for aging, depending on your preference. Does well with a little decant.

VINEYARD:
White Hawk Vineyards in Cat Canyon in Santa Barbara needs no introduction. This is one of the best Syrah vineyards in the country bar none. Many producers have won multiple awards producing wines from this vineyard and we are so happy we were able to get small allocation in 2023. We are extremely proud of this wine.
