BACKGROUND:
I had a great Syrah from another producer a few years back from this vineyard and was immediately compelled to also get some fruit from the same organically farmed vineyard myself. I am however glad to say, that our wines are quite different.

STYLE:
Whole cluster Syrah, elevated aromatics and slight balsamic notes. Aged in neutral barrels to keep freshness alive. Although juicy and fresh as you’d expect from whole cluster Syrah, it shows enough length to satisfy those who also look for greater body. Does well with a little decant, but is immediately drinkable upon release.

VINEYARD:
The Bench vineyard in Clements Hills has been farmed by the Leadbetter family for decades. They’ve been relentless in their desire to move over to organic practices and sustainable farming.
