BACKGROUND:
My third bone-dry Riesling from my favorite white grape, is very different from the lusher, fuller and more tropical “Obie” or the very lean “Bund”. This one sits somewhere in-between, with a little more heft.

STYLE:
This wine has lots of green fruit notes, lemons and wet stone, but a little more robustness to go with it. A perfect food wine all year around. In fact, I think Riesling in this style goes with just about anything.

VINEYARD:
Zabala Vineyard is part of the old California land grant Zabala Ranch that has been farmed and owned by the same family since the early 1800’s. Nestled in the cool lee side of the mountains just inland from the coat in Monterey County, it’s an ideal place to grow slightly colder region grapes.
